Artisan Kids Director
Part-Time | 25–30 Hours per Week | St. Petersburg, Florida
Artisan City Church is seeking a spiritually mature, highly relational, and organized leader to serve as our next Artisan Kids Director.
Artisan City is a growing church in downtown St. Pete with a vision to see beauty from brokenness in St. Pete and beyond. Our mission is to passionately pursue God’s presence, practices, and people as we pour out our lives for the good of others.
We are passionate about creating a church where people who may not typically feel comfortable in church can encounter the beauty of Jesus, experience authentic community, and discover a divine purpose worth giving their lives to. We are equally committed to investing deeply in the next generation and building something that lasts.
About Artisan Kids:
Artisan Kids exists to help children passionately pursue God’s presence, practices, and people as they prepare to pour out their lives for the good of others.
Our ministry is built around four key practices:
- Prayer and worship: Helping children talk to, listen to,
sing to, and experience a real and present God.
- Biblical teaching: Rooting children in the unified story
of Scripture and the good news of Jesus.
- Group time: Creating meaningful relationships
with peers and trusted leaders.
- Take it home: Giving children and families practical ways
to live out what they are learning throughout the week.

The Role
The Artisan Kids Director will provide spiritual, relational, and operational leadership for all aspects of Artisan Kids. This person will build a ministry that children love, parents trust, and volunteers are excited to serve within.
The Director will lead Artisan Kids through a significant season of growth, including the continued development of our ministry systems, volunteer teams, parent partnerships, and two-gathering Sunday rhythm.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide vision, leadership, and direction for Artisan Kids.
- Create Sunday environments that are safe, engaging,
age-appropriate, spiritually formative, and fun.
- Select, adapt, and oversee biblically faithful curriculum.
- Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, encourage,
and pastor Artisan Kids volunteers.
- Identify and develop team leads, coordinators,
and apprentice leaders.
- Ensure compliance with all Artisan Kids safety, security,
check-in, cleanliness, allergy, incident-reporting,
and background-check procedures.
- Maintain appropriate volunteer-to-child ratios and
prepare for continued numerical growth.
- Coordinate classrooms, supplies, curriculum,
technology, and Sunday logistics.
- Build strong relationships with children and their parents.
- Equip parents with resources and practical tools for
discipling their children at home.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with parents,
volunteers, staff, and church leadership.
- Manage the Artisan Kids budget and steward resources wisely.
- Track meaningful ministry health indicators and regularly
evaluate what is working and what needs to improve.
- Collaborate with the ACC staff and serve as an
engaged member of the broader church community.
- Participate in staff meetings, planning rhythms,
leadership development, and major church gatherings.

- Loves Jesus wholeheartedly and demonstrates a growing
life of prayer, Scripture, worship, humility, and obedience.
- Has a genuine love for children, parents, and the local church.
- Can affirm and support Artisan City Church’s essential
beliefs, convictions, mission, values, and ministry philosophy.
- Has experience leading a children’s ministry, volunteer
organization, educational environment, or comparable ministry team.
- Is both relational and operational: able to care for
people while also creating reliable systems.
- Communicates clearly, follows through consistently,
and handles details with excellence.
- Can recruit, inspire, develop, and empower volunteers
rather than attempting to do everything alone.
- Is comfortable leading in a growing, flexible,
fast-moving church environment.
- Understands how to create experiences that are
spiritually meaningful without being overly
produced, performative, or “Christian cringe.”
- Values creativity, hospitality, cultural awareness, and
age-appropriate excellence.
- Is teachable, emotionally healthy, collaborative,
and able to receive feedback.
- Is willing to complete a background check and
all required child-safety training.
- Formal ministry education is welcomed but not required.
- Proven character, leadership capacity, theological alignment,
and relevant experience are more important than a particular degree.

Position: Artisan Kids Director
Status: Part-time, 25–30 hours per week
Location: St. Petersburg, Florida
Schedule: Sunday mornings are required, along with
weekly office, planning, team-development,
and meeting hours. Some evenings and special events will be required.
Reports to: Executive Pastor
Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
